About

Hi, I’m Dave.

Ask Dave grew out of a simple idea: bring broad practical experience, professional standards and personal service together under one name.

When you get in touch, you deal with me directly. I quote the job, I answer the phone, and I am the one on-site carrying out the work.

My background spans industrial access and safety, building maintenance, arboriculture and tree surgery, alongside extensive practical experience in hard and soft landscaping. It means I bring the standards and working practices expected on major commercial sites to the smaller projects I now undertake for homeowners, landlords and businesses across West Cornwall.

I’ve spent more than 25 years working at height, including commercial abseiling and rope access across telecoms and building maintenance. My arboricultural experience covers practical tree surgery as well as operations management, surveys and consultancy.

That experience also allows Ask Dave to undertake specialist building maintenance at height, using rope-access techniques and MEWPs where appropriate to reach areas that can otherwise be difficult or costly to access.

Ask Dave operates through UpFOR Solutions Ltd, bringing the same professional standards to domestic and commercial work. My work is backed by comprehensive public liability insurance and a thorough understanding of current safety requirements.

I have trained, studied and qualified with some of the UK’s leading industrial safety, arboricultural and trade bodies.
